For the pokemon savvy

Postby PengiKirby » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:05 am

Woah, guys, sorry for dying but there really isn't much to do and I've been in some funks lately, not to mention school. But, as it is now summer, I -might- have to to do other shtuffs.

For right now, though, I am wanting to replay my Pokemon Firered game :D

Now, however, I am equipped with strategy. Through a few veekun searches, bulbapedia checking and type matching, I am planning on making an okay team and some reliable backup, just in case.

So far, I know who I'm going to find, fairly early. Charmander is my ideal starter, Oddish my HM slave and I will hunt in the Viridian forest for a Pikachu. Now I am in need of a water type and a rock type or ground type to balance out the fire issue and maybe some others for other inconveniences.

Ah, and I probably also want it possible to beat Brock, so maybe some early suggestions?

Please?
Because PengiKirby said so.

You ought to train your Charmander to level 13 so that it can learn Metal Claw; and thus have an easier time handling Brock's pokemon.

Ah, thanks.

I'm sorry, but do you have any good pokemon I should aim for, type-wise? Most teams I put together have huge holes in them.

I've always liked using Sandslash or Rhydon as my ground-types in Kanto. Nidoking/Nidoqueen are pretty good, too. I also reccommend a Dragonite.
