The E3 presentation was supposed to be all about Wii U, and that segment of the show also seemed like it was stalling for time. I'm also pretty sure the horrible fireworks ending was staged at the last minute, because the presentation would have had a much better ending had Retro's project been shown.

Still, it makes me extremely curious about Retro's big project.

I'd imagine that it'll be a sequel to the Metroid Prime series, since that's the series they have the most experience on. It could also be a rumored Starfox title, though is there that big of a demand for one? Retro said that it was a title a lot of people wanted them to do, and I haven't heard that much of a demand for one. Of course, I just might not pay enough attention. Now I wouldn't mind a Wii U Yoshi's Island, and they did fine with DKCR, so I'd think they could handle Yoshi's Island.

You are pardoned, because apparently you were wrong.

It doesn't seem like Nintendo is going to be making many games that support 1080p.

Darn. I know the Wii U is more capable than that. Maybe it's just to keep development costs down.

There will be 1080p. Just not on certain games. The games have to be optimized for Wii U and it brings up production costs significantly. Satoru Iwata stated that developers are currently only using 50% of the Wii U's power because the architecture of the hardware is different and developers need to learn how to use it correctly. It was a similar case for the Xbox 360 and especially the PlayStation 3 - games looked like GameCube games essentially running at higher resolution. Katsuya Eguchi also stated that 720p is fine for many games. Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U look fine in 720p. I'm sure the next Legend of Zelda or Super Smash Bros, or other big games will take advantage of 1080p.
