Kid Icarus: Uprising

Has anyone pre-ordered Kid Icarus: Uprising? I'm excited for it. I have really high expectations since Masahiro Sakurai is designing it.

I got the game yesterday and it is amazing!! I stayed up all night playing it (about to go to bed at 7 AM LOL) and still haven't beaten the story mode. I am on chapter 20! The game is really long

There is a joke where they make you believe it ends around chapter 10 lol

I stayed up til 1 in the morning playing. I only got to chapter 3 but I was experimenting with difficulties and all of the other features of the game including the AR cards, weapons, multiplayer, and other stuff.

It's a wonderful game. The graphics are really stunning and it has hilarious dialogue. The gameplay is really fun and fast paced. The music is some of Nintendo's best. The control scheme is so awkward though. It took me forever to get used to the stylus controls, but I eventually got the hang of it. It's still weird, though, but it offers more precision than dual analog.

I was also experimenting with difficulty and weapon fusion. I played many chapters over and over again trying to beat them on harder difficulties and trying to collection hearts and weapons. My best weapon so far after fusing is a 273 value cursed palm, which is amazing. I can beat some chapters on difficulty setting 9.0 without practicing the stage because the homing is excellent as well as the damage (It's like the bubble-gun in Thunder Spirits on the SNES if anyone remembers that). I was also wooping peoples' arses online too. I also got a rare weapon I've never seen before called Viridi's Palm which I also acquired through fusion. (It's valued at 230 with 3.5 stars ranged and 3 stars melee, forward-dash ch. shot +3) It has her face on it and shoots hearts lol!

If you've played Metroid on the DS a lot like I have, the controls are exactly the same, so the controls aren't awkward at all to me. I like the stand that they included though. It makes me feel like I'm playing an arcade system.

By the way, add me! 3308 4573 1530

Edit: I beat the game now. So good. I loved it. Just a hint: In chapter 20, there is an area in Palutena's Temple where there are jail cells. There, you'll find the blue transport thing that takes you to a rare weapon, which is seemingly inaccessible. However, if you open the last cell door on the left, inside you'll find a wall that you can walk through to get to it. Chapter 20 is a great chapter for getting loot and hearts (In one run, I got over 10000 hearts, 2 weapons valued above 280 and one 337!), so it helps to play it on the hardest difficulty you can handle (You have to be playing difficulty levels above 5 and 8 to access two doors that give weapons).

I think that fusing certain weapons creates a certain weapon. So, for example, to make a Viridi Palm, you'd use a drill arm and paw pad orbitars. It can also be created by fusing Boom Orbitars and a Viper Blade.

Wow, you're really good. The highest intensity I've ever cleared a level at is 6.4. I suck really bad at multiplayer. XD

I've added you. My friend code is 3523 - 2138 - 3156.
I'm currently on chapter 18. Great game.

Just beat the story mode today and I love this game. So much. The gameplay is great, the game looks beautiful, the music is wonderful, every level has a unique idea and is more fun than the last. And despite all of that, the best part of the game is the script, which just keeps the game enjoyable and keeps it from ever getting old, even more than the unique level designs do. The controls are still awful. They just hurt to use, but I really just can't think of how they could have done a better configuration, so I'll forgive it. In Metroid Hunters the controls were enough to make me quit, but Kid Icarus was just too good for that.

This game is hands down the best on the 3ds so far and I love it and already want a sequel.

My thoughts exactly. The controls don't really bother me as much as they used to, but yeah, they're still bad.

It's funny because I love the controls. I consider myself a pencil artist so I guess my stylus technique is better, which helps.

Right now my favorite weapon in my Magnus Club (5 star range 2 star melee, +3 speed +3 overall defense + 2 dash char. shot, 302 value). It is so beast, it does 230 damage with one dash char. shot and recharges super fast. The backwards dash atk summons an enormous tornado that even cancels many approaching shots. One or two swings and almost any foe is taken down. The movement speed is already fast, but with the speed increase I'm like sonic!

Anyways, I've unlocked most of the weapons so far. I'll list what I can here to help anyone out (contribute if you can).

Zodiac Weapons (The hidden blue transport weapons):

Sagittarius Bow: Chapter 2, walk through a large tapestry hanging on the wall that's located at the stairway.

Taurus Arm: Chapter 4, walk off the cliff in the area where there are 2 swinging pendulum blades, then fall down a blue-lit hole in the ground near other, purplish holes.

Gemini Orbitars: Chapter 6, at the water fountain cross-section, go right to fight Dark Pit in the underground area (you may have to fight him at another location beforehand). After you beat him scale the wall until you find a pathway to the blue transport.

Cancer Claw: Chapter 8, instead of walking on the jump-pad on the platform after the first jump-pad of the area where the space pirates keep their celestial treasure, walk to the end of it and walk off then go through the door there.

Leo Cannon: Chapter 10, after you put the "statue" in the lava, as Palutena puts it, look around for a different door than the one you're suppose to go through and it'll be past there.

Virgo Palm: Chapter 12, near the end of the blue-colored area where you get two bomb items, after you defeat all the enemies instead of taking the elevator that first appears, go to the right of the way you came and take that elevator.

Scorpio Staff: Chapter 16, after you get the Ethering when you're falling down the shaft, look around for a pathway and it'll be there.

Capricorn Club: Chapter 20, walk through the wall in the last cell door on the left in the jail cells area in Palutena's castle.

Aquarius Blade: Chapter 23, after the part where you have to switch grind rails so you don't die, get back on that grind rail and head backwards.

Others:

Palutena's Blade: Beat Chapter 9 in less than 28 minutes (any difficulty).

Boom Orbitars: Clear chapter 25 within 15 minutes.

Viridi Palm: Acquire 5 different palms.

Palutena's Bow: Finish chapter 24 in under 11 minutes (any difficulty).

Poseidon Cannon: Clear chapter 8 in under 20 minutes (any difficulty).

Aurum Blade: Destroy 8 of the guns surrounding the Boss in chapter 15.

Aurum Palm: Clear chapter 16 without switching grind rails during the Aurum Generator battle.

Aurum Club: Clear chapter 15 withing 17 minutes.

Aurum Orbitars: Clear chapter 16 using a claw.

Aurum Bow: Defeat the boss while in Crisis Mode.

Centurion Orbitars: Defeat chapter 19's boss while in Crisis Mode.

Viridi Claws: Clear chapter 22 without dying (Intensity 5.0 or higher).

You get the boss weapons (Twinbellows Cannon, Magnus Club, Phosphora Bow, etc.) by completing the chapters, so just play through solo-mode.

Thanks! I really need to collect a lot more items. My favorite weapon right now is the Violent Palm. It has 5 star ranged, but 0 star melee.

Sakurai is such a boss. I still can't get over how much content is packed into this game.

Check out this wiki article: http://sakurai.wikia.com/wiki/Weapon_Fusion

It'll aid you in chain-fusing. =D Also, that wiki is started by me, so if you would like to become an admin and help me with it, just let me know.
