I think the Wii U Pro controller will be fine for the new SSB. Who knows, maybe Sakurai will add new mechanics to the game to accommodate the new button layout/addition buttons. Maybe the next SSB will be a lot different than it's predecessors.

I for one think they shouldn't remove anyone. Though, they should re-do Ganondorf's move set so he's no longer a slow moving clone of Captain Falcon. I never chose him because he's so damn slow. As for characters I want them to add, I'd like to see any new Kirby or Mother characters in general, mainly just because those are my two favorite Nintendo franchises. I'd like to see Giygas from Earthbound/Mother 2 as a boss in the Story Mode. That would be neat. Claus/Masked Man from Mother 3 as a playable character would be cool too, despite the hact that he died at the end of Mother 3. Some Kirby characters I'd like as a boss would be either Marx, Zero, or Magolor, they're all pretty badass. As for a new playable Kirby character, the bandana Waddle Dee. He's appearing in the games more often lately, so it would make sense to add him. Any other Kirby character would be just fine, though.
Return to Dreamland, Mass Attack, and Air Ride are the best Kirby games. In no particular order.

Best Hoshi no Kirby characters:

1. Fumu
2. Kirby
3. Escargon
4. Meta Knight
5. Customer Service.

Sakurai said that the number of playable characters would be about the same as Brawl, so it'll be rather lame if they aren't going to replace any characters. Ganon is rather slow, but since Falcon has a similar move-set, you could always choose him for a faster character. Having more Earthbound characters would be rather senseless because the franchise isn't produced anymore and isn't socially popular in NA/EU. Cameos such as bosses would be reasonable, though. As for new Kirby characters, they're always nice, but if the character count is going to be limited, I'd prefer another franchise get more attention.

As much as I love the Mother series, Hiei is right. I think I read somewhere on My Nintendo News that there actually would be more characters in the next SSB, although it would be a small amount. I think cameos would be the best way for a bunch of franchises to get attention. I don't really want Namco Bandai characters to be playable but I'd be perfectly fine with cameo appearances.

What they need is less Pokemon and more actual characters. I mean, if they add just a few more Pokemon, all the rest of the characters will have to be unlocked! Plus some Pokemon are as useful as potted plants. What ssb4 needs is stuff like the Crystal character from Star Fox or something lik that.

Sakurai is really in a tough spot, since he has to deeply consider all of the characters in the game. I'm really confident he'll make good choices, though.

Pokémon are actual characters. 4 Pokémon characters aren't really the problem, that's as many characters as all the other series have in Brawl.

I really want to see Nintendo add some characters from Advance Wars. The series doesn't get much attention because there are only a few games here in the west, and they're all on handhelds (Japan has had the series since the Famicom). If Nintendo added at least 1 Advance Wars character to ssb4, it would bring a lot more attention to the series, and then we might get some more installments. Similar to what happened with Kid Icarus after Brawl came out.

Now that Kid Icarus has gotten a lot more attention, I think we might get to see Palutena make more of an appearance in ssb4, even if she's not playable.

I don't care if it's Palutena, but I definitely think there should be additional playable characters from Kid Icarus Uprising. It's an amazing game with great character designs. Sakurai wrote all the dialogue, after all.

Did he really? He's amazing. I loved the dialog in that game.

The only thing that makes me tentative about having characters from not-well-known-franchises is that I feel like they might disappoint a lot of fans. It was successfully done with Kid Icarus, so if it's done right, it breathes life into the franchise. I feel like there are just so many characters to put in the game and an extremely limited amount of spots. I think that having cameos as NPCs, like assist trophies, would be the best option to include as many neglected franchises as possible. They'll still get attention, without taking up the valuable spots in the character roster.

There should totally be a mode where you're free to play with characters downloaded as DLC. I don't believe it would be feasable to include them in the other game modes because of balancing but it would still be awesome.

Pretty much, except much simpler and legal.
